A man allegedly armed himself with a knife and attended a Bondi apartment following an earlier altercation near Bondi Beach.
Around 1am (Sunday 31 January 2016), police attended a property on Campbell Parade following reports two men were involved in a fight.
One of the men – a 31-year-old Italian national – was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital with facial injuries.
The other man – 27-year-old from Brazil – was arrested and taken to Waverley Police Station. He was later released, pending further inquiries.
It’s alleged that after discharging himself from hospital, the 31-year-old armed himself with a knife and attended an apartment on Old South Head Road, Bondi, shortly before 5am.
Upon arriving, he allegedly told residents he wanted to see the 27-year-old man.
Police were called to the scene where they arrested the 31-year-old and seized two knives.
He was taken to Waverley Police Station and subsequently charged with:
– Aggravated break and enter;
– Armed with intent to commit indictable offence; and,
– Two counts of common assault.
Refused bail, he is scheduled to appear before Waverley Local Court tomorrow (Monday 1 February 2016).
